Welcome! I’m Nikita Singla – a civil engineer by education, a solo backpacker by choice, a yoga instructor by training, and a blogger by passion. I am currently based in Washington DC and am a Consultant on the World Bank’s Regional Cooperation in South Asia program.
Prior to joining the World Bank, I was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Centre for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan based in Baku. I have also worked with the French Agency for Development in Sri Lanka, Bureau of Research on Industry and Economic Fundamentals in India, Booz & Company in India and Lafarge in France. I am an Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi) and Masters in International Economic Policy from Sciences Po Paris. My research interests include Regional Cooperation, Intra-regional Trade, and Women Empowerment with a focus on South Asia. I am committed to bringing about a change in South Asia, especially India Pakistan.
Other than work, I am mainly seen backpacking, couch surfing, and hitchhiking. Having backpacked across more than 30 countries, Delhi remains my favorite den! I like to write about my experiences, this is where you can read what I write.
